Derek J. Fromm – Founder, President & CEO
Mr. Fromm has over 25 years of investment banking and legal experience involving capital markets and M&A advisory services for clients in regulated industries, including electric and water/wastewater public utilities and power and water-related IPPs, and transportation services through Greenstone Capital, which he co-founded in 1998. Previously, from 1986 through 1998, Mr. Fromm was executive director with UBS in London involved in cross-border M&A advisory assignments and equity capital markets transaction origination.
Mr. Fromm is founding partner in a utility-scale renewable energy and fuel project development firm, Greenstone Renewables and was President/CFO of Penn Oak Energy Corp an LNG-centric, clean-fuels development company, until late 2015. Prior to his investment banking career, Mr. Fromm was a corporate, maritime and transportation equipment finance lawyer with a premier New York transportation and maritime law firm, Haight, Gardner (now, Holland & Knight), where he was primarily involved in US and international ship and heavy equipment financings. Mr. Fromm holds active Series 7, 79 and 63 securities licenses and is authorized to advise on, structure and facilitate investment banking and securities transactions in the U.S. Mr. Fromm has been a member of the New York State bar since 1983. A Dutch national, Mr. Fromm holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, and law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, with a focus on corporate and transportation law.
